Tick Tock

In the late 1990s and early 2000s I made a series of works that used a slide projector carousel as a substitute for the video loop that recalled the flick book animations I made as a kid. I would take two related photographs that would be presented alternately in an unending repetitive sequence. In this one I alternated a conventional self portrait with one of me with a black eye. The gif gives you some idea of what these images looked like when the slide carousel switched from one image to the other.
